The Truth About Basecamp

By |2020-05-08T15:43:38-04:00November 16th, 2016|Uncategorized|

Do you ever feel like the work communication never stops? Are you overwhelmed with your projects and need a place for all of it to go? Look no further! Let me introduce you to Basecamp. Basecamp is a website and an app. Everyone on your team can have a role. It has been super valuable to us at swHw so that we make sure and maximize our work hours so that we can ultimately maximize our time with our families! Let me breakdown the features for you: PING: a ping is similar to a text. You can ping one person or multiple people. If they set up notifications then they can be notified every time someone pings them. I’m sure you’re thinking, why ping if you can text? Well, it keeps everything in one place. I would recommend picking text or ping and stick to it. We have utilized pings so that we are all on the same page and it’s all in one place. CAMPFIRE: a campfire lets you have separate businesses/ministries. We have one set up for MCT, swHw, CTC and MCT Leadership. You can add certain people to specific ones. Within a Campfire, you have to-dos, [...]

When God Calls You Out of Your Comfort Zone

By |2020-05-08T15:43:59-04:00November 3rd, 2016|Uncategorized|

Have you ever been called to do something that makes you super uncomfortable? I recently felt the Lord tugging at my heart to do something way out of my comfort zone. It involved a small group study of Michelle’s new book Famous in Heaven & at Home. I tried to shrug it off. I tried to ignore it. But the Lord kept at it. I finally gave in. I told the swHw team that it was something that I felt the Lord was calling me to do. I made a video, promoted the group and asked people to join me – all of which makes me uncomfortable and awkward. But I did it. I obeyed the Lord. And you know what? We’re almost done with the study and there are over 200 people in that ‘small group’. The Lord blessed me tremendously by obeying His call. Is the Lord asking you do to something that is so far out of your comfort zone that you don’t even know where to start? Let me give you a piece of advice. Obey the Lord. Obey Him. He will bless you. You may not see or feel it immediately. But I can [...]

How to Cut Your Customer Service Emails in Half

By |2020-05-08T15:46:33-04:00September 20th, 2016|Uncategorized|

Answering emails is one of my favorite “jobs” that I’ve been given. I know Michelle would rather crawl into a hole than answer emails, but it’s how I stay connected to our members. It’s so fun for me to be able to get to know our members and customers. I have loved emailing back and forth with so many of you! However, answering emails can take up a lot of time if you aren’t careful. Adding canned responses is a great way to cut down your time on answering emails. It allows you to send the same response to many different people. I’ve written a blog about how to create and send “canned responses” that you can view here. But there’s also another super easy way to cut your email time in half – set up an autoresponder. The easiest way to do this is to set up your vacation settings. A vacation responder sends an email reply automatically to all incoming messages. You can set up a date when you want it to start, but you don’t have to add an end date, which allows the auto responder to always be “on”. If you’ve ever emailed us, you’ve [...]

Popular vs. Purposeful

By |2020-05-08T15:49:31-04:00July 14th, 2016|Uncategorized|

As the Creative Director at She Works His Way, I have the opportunity of developing our marketing strategy, which includes social media content and all things visual. Much of what I do can often be focused on which post or photo will get the most likes, comments, shares, and overall interaction. So while social media is an incredible tool for our business and engagement on social media is very important, if we make that our ultimate focus, we can easily lose sight of the heart behind our ministry. Why is that? When we try to reach every one, we don't truly reach any one. It's easy to get tunnel vision around the goal of achieving the most likes, shares, or follows. But when we focus on creating content that everyone will agree with, our message becomes muddled and unclear. For example, a post with an inspirational quote about working hard may get more likes than a quote that calls us to surrender our lives completely to Jesus. But that's not the point. Our mission at swHw is to encourage women in leadership to run hard after Jesus and make Him the ultimate pursuit in our ministries and businesses. When [...]
