What You Need for Innovation (Hint: It’s not creativity!)

By |2020-10-01T21:28:24-04:00October 1st, 2020|Classes|

What You Need for Innovation (Hint: It's not creativity!) You know you need to plan Q4, but part of you is convinced you simply don't have the brain power for it. After six months of virtual school, phases, and pivoting, how will you find the creativity to innovate for your organization and customers? Just one thing: effective innovation is so. much. more. about meeting needs than creativity. If you want to innovate in such a way that serves your customer base and target audience, your best idea will not come merely from trying to get in the creative zone. You just need ears and empathy. If you want to innovate in Q4, this is all you need to do: 1) What do they need? Listen. 2) Why do they need it? Care. 3) How can you help? Serve. It's really that simple. Members, if you missed our Q4 planning workshop in class with Michelle Myers on Wednesday, the recording is up! Block off one hour, grab your business tracker or favorite tool to take notes, and plan the rest of 2020 with us! Not a member yet? Join our community today! This class recording (and so much more!) swHw Mastermind: Working From Home

By |2020-09-24T13:48:21-04:00September 24th, 2020|Uncategorized|

Are you reaching the end of your endurance juggling home, work, school, church, family time, date nights and multiple people's schedules (and sanity!) within the same four walls... practically 24/7? We get it. We SO get it. And if you don't believe us, we've added the questions that were submitted by our swHw community regarding our last Mastermind topic: working from home, below to show you that you're really not alone. Are these some of the same questions you've been having? How do I know if my business isn’t growing more due to lack of discipline, strategy, skill, delegation, etc OR because God wants to keep it the size it currently is? I feel like I am disciplined in it but also feel like I could be doing more sometimes. But am I really supposed to be doing more or just allowing my soul to breathe? How to do medical sales virtually with busy doctors who hate virtual meetings. Ideas for recreating sales opportunities in a no face-to-face contact situation. Building trust and relationships with those restrictions? Can we talk about choosing grace, operating from abundance vs scarcity and leaning into spiritual gifts and talents to create an [...]

Heaven’s Priorities in Daily Practice

By |2020-09-18T08:31:03-04:00September 18th, 2020|Uncategorized|

Most days, you'll have to actively choose to make God greater and to see Heaven -- even when what is right in front of your face is earth. When Michelle walked us through Colossians 3 in class this week, all of the lightbulbs went off. It's not just about shifting our perspective, it's about sharing God's perspective. Only then will we live our lives doing the things that matter. Colossians 3:2 puts it this way: “Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.” We must aim for God’s perspective, not merely what we can see. Here's a quick exercise Michelle gave in class: How does God view and what is God’s desire for… Your family? Your church? Your job? Your paycheck? Your stuff? Your house? Your enemy? Your boss? Your hard situation? Your thought life? Your time? The gifts He gave you? Your attitude? Your sin? Think of this list as a starting point. There's not a single area of our lives that we shouldn't aim to have His perspective. So wrote down His view and His desire for each line item, then pray and ask God to help you see [...]

Top 5 Best and Most Basic Proofreading Tips

Formal writing is fine in formal settings, but in informal settings, it’s definitely not. And there’s a way to be informal without crossing over to being unprofessional. So for professional writing that’s more casual in nature (social media, blogs, etc.), our very own words expert, Michelle Myers, created a simple grammar guide to help our she works His way members know which rules to keep, which rules to [sometimes] break + as well as a few basic proofreading tips to help maximize her casual content. Here's a little snippet of what she shared. Talk to text is a speaker’s BFF. Most communicators have a natural strength – speaking or writing – and then spend the rest of their lives developing the other as a skill. Maybe you are a formal writer and struggle to write casually. Or maybe you feel like you always know what to say, but then you sit down to type, and you feel like your fingers take forever to type what’s so much [...]

How to Stop Sideways Energy

By |2020-09-02T15:54:00-04:00September 2nd, 2020|Classes|

You've heard it said, "work smarter, not harder," but what does that actually look like in the day-to-day life of a woman who is often pulled in multiple directions with multiple interruptions? (Can you relate?) And even more so, is that Biblical wisdom or worldly advice? Our highest priorities that we talk about all the time here at swHw should get more than just our best intentions; they should get our greatest energy. And all of that is exactly what Somer unpacked for our members in class this week as she talked through How to Stop Sideways Energy. But before she went too far into class, she started with a quiz to help us determine if sideways energy is a problem for us.  It was such an eye opener that we decided to share it here on the blog for you as well! Take some time to evaluate yourself honestly, and if the results show you that sideways energy is probably a momentum killer for you, your home, or your career, you can join here to watch the entire class and get some tips on how to spot it and stop it! Directions: Considering each day, mark the place [...]
