3 Tips to Writing Better Instagram Captions

By |2020-05-08T15:44:09-04:00October 27th, 2016|Business|

Feeling overwhelmed by having to produce constant content for your Instagram? Sometimes it can feel exhausting coming up with original captions that your audience will connect with day after day. Here are 3 tips to help simplify the process so you can spend more time doing what you do best and let your Instagram content be a helpful tool instead of a frustrating distraction! 1. Add value.  To ensure your caption is always bringing value to your audience, ask yourself: Does this educate, inspire, give a behind the scenes look, or build community? If the answer is no, it will quickly reveal that you may be posting, just to post, without offering any true value to those seeing and reading your content. 2. Create interaction. How so? If you want  people to not only like your posts, but engage with them via comments or reposts, you have to add a call to action they will resonate with. People love to give input (when they know their input is appreciated), love to give shout outs to their friends, and love to re-post or share content that helps identify them as a person. Here are just a few examples: What's your [...]

When Your Job Leaves You Unfulfilled

By |2020-05-08T15:44:25-04:00October 20th, 2016|Business|

“I just feel so unfulfilled in my current job. I know I can do so much more.” Can you relate? Around 75% of my consulting calls begin with words similar to this. So I thought these two reminders might be helpful for everyone. Truth #1: Your job was never meant to fulfill you. That’s God’s job. Yes, God created us for work. His Word gives plenty of instruction against laziness. But the Bible never tells us to find our identity, our security or our worth in the jobs we do. Those things are only available through Him. So if we look to our work to make us feel valuable, we’re never going to be satisfied. We might as well volunteer to enter into a never-ending black hole of discontentment. But God offers the satisfaction we’re longing for in Him alone – simply by basking in His presence and our belief in Him. Meditate on these sweet words of real fulfillment: “Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to Me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in Me shall never thirst.” – John 6:35 “In Your presence, there is fullness of joy; at Your right [...]

5 Tips for Creating Better Facebook Banners

By |2020-05-08T15:44:33-04:00October 18th, 2016|Branding, Business|

Your Facebook banner is the most important picture on your Facebook business page. Consider it your first impression! It’s the first picture that people see when they visit your page. A Facebook banner should be changed every couple of months so that people see a fresh new look when they go to your page, if not sooner depending on if it needs to be updated with relevant information.   Here are some tips to keep in mind when creating and designing your Facebook banner: 1. Show your brand. Show your brand in a creative, clear way. What you sell, promote, or do should be immediately obvious. Your banner is the prefect place to SHOW your brand in a picture. You can also incorporate seasons and holidays to make your banner festive!     2. Don’t use too much text. Over half of Facebook’s content is images and and visual content. However, too much text on a picture looks messy. Instead, use a fun, creative photo to truly show what your business or ministry is about.     3. Promote upcoming events or products.   Changing your banner often helps to make your page show up in people’s newsfeed. Your banner [...]

3 Ways to Win Over Your Online Prospects

By |2020-05-08T15:44:58-04:00October 11th, 2016|Business|

It can be tough to be in business in a world where we are constantly being sold. We have more eyes on our businesses than ever before but for many of us,  this hasn’t translated to anything that resembles profit. Why? People are numb to being sold. If there are humans present, somebody will see it as an opportunity to pounce. Don’t be that someone. Think about social media right now as opposed to 5-7 years ago. It quickly went from keeping up with family and cute kitten videos to every third post in your newsfeed being a commercial for something.  I’m not saying that’s a bad thing though, she works His way uses Facebook and Instagram as the #1 source of our marketing. Same goes for the gym my husband and I own. But what good does all of the “selling” do if it only brings eyes, but no transactions? That’s what I want to help you with today! First, we need to get away from the idea that a social media “like” is a win. That’s like saying a person walking into a restaurant and giving the chef a high five because the menu LOOKS good, but [...]
