Establish the Work of our Hands

I went into the weekend of our very first Narrow conference with an expectant heart. Quite honestly, I needed it like living water. I was longing for some time with women chasing hard after Jesus. That’s exactly what I got. And more. I think Psalm 90:17 sums up my experience at Narrow the best: “May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands.” I saw God at work in our hands this past weekend in three very special ways. Hands raised high in worship. We kicked off the conference on Friday night and concluded the conference on Saturday night with worship. And let me just say that I think I got a little glimpse of what it will be like when we are all worshiping Jesus in Heaven. No matter what we all brought to this event with us, when that band began to lift up the name of Jesus, He was the only One in the room and the only One that mattered. Hands trained to do His work. Making the Most of Your Conference Ticket

Our first LIVE swHw conference is almost upon us, and we are giddy with excitement over here! Needless to say, it’s hard for my brain to give thought to much else, so while it’s at the forefront of my mind, I thought I would give you my top tips to make the most out of any event experience. (And Narrow peeps, I seriously cannot wait to squeeze you!) Tip 1:  Prepare ahead of time.   Do your homework before the event begins. Most conferences post the agenda ahead of time. (Here’s ours!) By looking ahead at the schedule, you can get an idea of what you’ll need to wear/bring, plan accordingly for travel, meals and any free time, and look up the event presenters to connect with them on social media. (You could always say hello ahead of time just in case you want to ask a follow-up question during or after the event!) Tip 2: Don’t skip sessions.   You didn’t interrupt your normal life and pay money for a conference ticket to lounge by the pool or go check out a local coffee joint. Between Facebook reviews, websites that exist specifically for rating your customer experience, and not to mention, social media instant feedback, it’s never been easier for businesses today to get feedback from their customers. But how do you know the difference between a good idea and one person’s personal preference? Or what negative feedback do you take to heart, and what feedback do you ignore? I’m so glad you asked. Here are my top five tips to help you manage customer feedback…without losing your mind. Tip #1: No name, no worries. People are really brave behind a computer screen. If someone has left a negative customer review on my website, but they don’t attach their name to it, I immediately rule it out.
