Live Better Offline

By |2020-05-08T15:51:10-04:00April 12th, 2016|Uncategorized|

I love my online business + training other online business owners with She Works His Way. But a consistent trouble thread that I see is the attempt to live a virtual life (aka being more appearance-focused than service-focused.) And friend, that's just not possible. We are not virtual beings. So here's the truth: if it's our goal to live better lives offline, we will also be better online. But if instead, our goal is to be better online, we will be sucked down a vortex of constant disappointment when the virtual, no matter how great, cannot compete with our mediocre reality in front of us. So let's live better offline. Love deeper. Care more. Serve with more enthusiasm. Lead with more authenticity. Do more with intention + excellence. Pursue a greater purpose than selfish gain. And then, let's take a deep sigh of relief and praise the One who gave us our assignment in the first place. Praying this will seek deep into the hearts of those reading this today! Perspective Checks in Pride, Pressure & Power

By |2020-05-08T15:54:06-04:00September 27th, 2015|Uncategorized|

What a powerful reminder for us this week! "Jars of clay" was a metaphor in Biblical times for "human weakness." Paul is gently reminding the Corinthians (and us today), "Why are you focused so much on the container? It's about the contents." This week, as we memorize this verse, let's check our pride, pressure and power. Pride It's not about us & what we bring to the table. We impress God when He looks down and sees Himself in us. Any talent or ability we possess is not from ourselves, but is a gift from God. We can't delusion ourselves to believe anything different. Satan would love nothing more than for us to give ourselves the glory. When we glory-hog our success, God is minimized, and therefore, we limit the Gospel. Let's make sure any time we experience success at any level that we point others the One who deserves the glory. Pressure Do you ever believe Satan's lie that you're too ordinary to make an impact for the Gospel? Or that your circle of influence is so small, that it doesn't matter whether you live boldly for God or not? I'll never forget learning this truth from my [...]

Am I Serving the Lord Whole-Heartedly?

By |2020-05-08T15:54:10-04:00September 20th, 2015|Uncategorized|

As we memorize this week's verse, I thought it would be appropriate to create a checklist for examining if we are living this verse out. This is a verse that not only requires meditation & memorization, but mobilization.    Below, don't forget "my job, "work" and "business" can refer to positions we are paid to do, or roles within our family. It doesn't have to come with a paycheck to be work! (And every mom said "Amen!") Do I do my job as if Jesus were my supervisor? Do I treat those who work with me and for me with respect? Can I be trusted to do my best even if no one is around? Do I work with enthusiasm? Do I aim to please God above anyone else? Does the way I work bring honor to the Lord? Is my work ethic consistent, no matter how glamorous or how tedious the task? Does my work ethic create curiosity in others to know my motivation? For some extra encouragement, keep reading the following verse: "knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free" (Ephesians 6:8). No matter how [...]

Sarah says, “In the world of social media, it is so easy to get stuck in the comparison trap, but as women seeking to work His way, we must focus on the path God has laid before us. Our lives may not feel as pretty, as easy, or as successful, but we are working for His glory, for His kingdom. Nothing else.” Amen! Thanks for blessing us with your gift this month, Sarah!
