God’s calling on your life — it’s not a secret!

By |2020-05-08T12:38:26-04:00February 6th, 2020|Uncategorized|

Somer started class (inside membership!) on Wednesday by having us draw three concentric circles. Each circle represent our callings, starting with the inside being the most important: follower of Christ. Often times, we look at "calling" as simply our vocation, but as she reminded us, in Scripture, the general idea of "calling" is much deeper than any one part of your life. But we also won't find our calling studying ourselves; we've got to study Him. Here's the action step: What we should be asking is “How do I obey with my feet?” Let's walk in obedience and ask God to close doors that are not from Him. Want to watch the full class? I’m betting if you’re here… New Year = New Books. Here are some books that have recently released (or will release this month!) that we are looking forward to adding to our personal library in 2020. Master of One: Find and Focus on the Work You Were Created to Do by Jordan Raynor “Most people spend their days making minimal progress in a million different directions, competent at many things but exceptional at none. But what if you could shift your focus from a million options to one?” That’s exactly what this book is all about – revealing the steps to finding and thriving in your ONE thing. And in true swHw style, this isn’t about becoming an expert, but discovering the work God specifically created us to do in service to Him and others. [P.S. Members, get excited! We interviewed Jordan  inside membership on Wednesday, January 15. Log in to listen - you are going to LOVE him! Book releases 1/21/2020!] The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry: How to Stay Emotionally Healthy and Spiritually Alive in the Chaos of the Modern World by John Mark Comer My favorite quote of this book might simply be: “Hurry is the greatest [...]

7 SIMPLE Productivity Tools Every Working Woman Needs

By |2020-05-08T13:16:07-04:00January 10th, 2020|Uncategorized|

In almost a decade of teaching women how to be more productive, I have learned that less is definitely more in terms of organizational resources. The days of a different planner or notebook for every hat you wear are gone! Here is a list of the seven most simple and EFFECTIVE tools to help you be at the top of your productivity game: A White Board or Giant Sticky Notes Out of sight, out of mind. LITERALLY! If you’re not brain dumping on a white board or giant sticky note, you’re missing out. With all the apps and a billion options for planners and pretty notebooks, you may not have even considered this option. Research shows us that downloading items from your brain to actual paper with an actual pen connects you better to the project or task at hand, thus making you more likely to complete it. That coupled with the fact that it will be in front of your face makes it almost impossible to ignore your work! Here are a few of my recommendations: https://www.amazon.com/Post-Sticky-Premium-Sticking-559/dp/B00006IA9F/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=giant+sticky+notes&qid=1575919506&sr=8-7 https://www.target.com/p/ubrands-marble-dry-erase-board-gold-frame-11-34-x14-34-white/-/A-51926720 https://www.amazon.com/OUSL-Magnetic-Double-Sided-Portable-Desktop/dp/B07RQRFWJJ/ref=sr_1_13?crid=3NWOK72NC2DUE&keywords=white+board&qid=1575919568&sprefix=white+board%2Caps%2C145&sr=8-13 The swHw Business Tracker  Some call it a tracker, some call it a planner. But what we call it is the business [...]
