They need us. They need the women who have gone ahead of them to turn around and say, "I've been where you're at, I've felt what you've felt, I've walked through what you've walked through - let me tell you how God met me right in the middle of it." This is the invaluable role of hindsight. We can trace God's faithfulness in our own lives, and use it to mark the path for those who can't quite see where they're heading. Or who need hope to know there's always good to be found. This generation is one of the most creative, passionate and capable generations to date. They are the generation that will lead our kids’ families. So, we can sit idly and say we're worried about them - or we can invest in them. What we're seeing is a generation drowning in content, when what they're really craving is connection. So, this episode is for the 20/30-something's trying to navigate one of the most pressurized decades and for those of us who have the ability to come alongside them. Share it with the Gen Z woman in your life who needs to know we see her and [...]

We all want homes that we looked forward to coming back to at the end of every day, right? Places of rest, joy and *mostly* peace. The requires intentionality. We’ve learned over time - stepping back and checking one of the only environments we do control for all of the above attributes is a discipline. In this episode, Somer chats with one of our favorites, Dara LaPorta, a She Works His Way OG. Dive into Dara's world as she joyfully navigates the chaos as a mom of four with one foot in the health and fitness world and another leading in women's ministry. Dara gives us her take on creating a cozy family vibe, and why she swears by intentional peace and chill family rhythms. Tune in for these nuggets of wisdom on slowing down, being intentional, and finding a relaxed rhythm in our crazy fast world.

Are You a Dreamer?

By |2024-01-29T14:02:07-05:00January 29th, 2024|Uncategorized|

Now, listen, before you think we're being downers with this week's episode - trust us when we say this episode is full of more hope than womp womp. There's a very specific pain attached to disappointment, to dreams unrealized. But, what if the unrealized dream is actually just an avenue to a bigger work unfolding in our lives? What if we could cultivate hearts that see more than the loss? That, instead, see Jesus more clearly for who He is and what He did? We know, we know. That sounds great on paper (or on screen), but actually building lives that are full of hopes and dreams rooted in the Lord? It takes work. But it's so so possible. The beauty of unfulfilled hopes and dreams is they oftentimes open your eyes to what you actually really needed the whole time, and the story ends up being better than it could have been. Let's talk more about it, and leave even more hopeful than when we started, on this week's podcast: Unfulfilled Hopes and Dreams. Things We Cover: Our Experiences with Unfulfilled Hopes and Dreams It's Okay To Ask God Why Dealing with Disappointment and Finding Purpose Drawing Closer [...]

Maybe you've wondered before: Does my work matter for eternity? The sad part is that most believers don't think it does. Yeah, those times you've shared Jesus with your co-workers obviously matters for eternity, but the other 99% of the time most believers don't think their work has great meaning in the grand scheme of things. But that’s not how God sees it. That truth is what our conversation with one of our favorite authors, Jordan Raynor, a leading voice in the faith and work movement and bestselling author, is rooted in. What if we started seeing our daily jobs—from baristas and entrepreneurs to stay-at-home moms and leaders—have an integral and eternal value. In Jordan's newest book, The Sacredness of Secular Work, he reveals unexpected ways our work truly matters. Today's conversation on the podcast covers: The Intersection of Ministry and Marketplace The Sacredness of Secular Work The Concept of Anti-Bucket List The Eternal Perspective of Work Scratching Off Glimpses of the Kingdom Practical Ways to Make Disciples Combining research, Scripture, and storytelling, Jordan Raynor proves that work, in its diverse forms, is one of the primary activities that brings God delight. Our prayer is that this perspective will [...]
