We’re back! Did you miss us? We’re just assuming you’re nodding right now because honestly that just makes us feel good.

We’re kicking off season 2 of the podcast TODAY, and we’re diving right into a conversation that either gets invited or forced into your thoughts this time of year:

Health, Wellness, & Body Image…

We know, we know. It’s everywhere. But WHAT IF we made the conversation more about God’s take on it instead of our own?

Although it was super weird to kick off the season without Michelle (don’t worry, she’ll be back next week), I was able to grab Kent (my husband for those of you who are new here) and have him sit in on this one. Which is probably another layer of weird because this is a topic we, unfortunately, tend to leave men out of.

However, he brought some unique perspectives to the table as a pastor, a ‘girl dad’, and, of course, my husband – the one who has spent years patiently waiting in the car while I change my outfit 382,479 times.

Although the issue of body image is deeply personal, at the same time, it’s universally relatable. We all have different relationships with our bodies, but the struggles often stem from the same sources: cultural and societal pressures, personal insecurities, and a barrage of unrealistic expectations.

These pressures can be overwhelming, right? But as believers, we’re called – or better yet, graciously invited – to lay them at the feet of Jesus and to strive for good health, but only as an act of worship (Romans 12:1), rather than an attempt to conform to a worldly construct designed to make us feel less than.

I really hope you’ll push play, but if you don’t, here are two things you need to know…

  1. If you’re striving for a healthier 2024, we beg you to start on the inside and prioritize your spiritual health. It will impact your physical health, and even better, the way you see yourself.
  2. Jesus loves you more than you can fathom and His love for you has nothing to do with how well your jeans fit.

It’s so good to be back! Happy Season TWO!
