Part 2 of our Conversation about Confidence is up!

This time, we unpack what last week’s confidence quiz revealed to us personally – mainly how our views have shifted as we’ve gotten older and how God’s faithfulness in our lives has shaped our understanding of confidence as He defines it.

But there’s something I haven’t been able to stop thinking about since our conversation ended.

We all have those moments where we wish we could have a heart-to-heart with our younger selves, right?

Speak truth.

Share with her what we know now that we didn’t know then.

Tell her how God would one day use that thing that was currently devastating her for her good? (Which, as Somer points out in this one, courage + confidence go together!)

Life can only be lived forward, though. A conversation with our younger selves is impossible.

But a conversation with someone whose walking a similar path we were once on? That’s completely possible. And it’s called discipleship.

So… are we doing it?

Paul wrote about this in his 2nd letter to the church at Corinth. He said, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

God is so good to take our trials and turn them into tools for ministry.

So, here’s a challenge before or after you listen: How can you take the wisdom God has graciously given you to illuminate His way for someone else?

  1. Reflect on a time when you lacked confidence in what to do next. How did God’s guidance and clarity help you find your way? The story God has given you can offer hope and direction to someone currently navigating a similar path.
  2. Share a story of a time when your faith was tested, and you emerged stronger on the other side. How did God’s faithfulness sustain you through the challenge? Your experience of God’s faithfulness can encourage someone facing their own trials, reminding them of God’s enduring presence and support.
  3. Remember when someone older or wiser guided you with their wisdom? How did that impact your confidence? Imagine being able to pass on how they blessed you to someone else.

These conversations matter, friend. Discipleship isn’t near as complicated as we can make it sometimes. What God has done in your life is a powerful ministry tool when you choose to share it with others.

Listen here. We’re praying it gives you a confidence boost only God can provide.
