Step 1:
Ask God to show you who you need to invite and then invite them.
Step 2:
Be serious about studying God’s Word on your own, asking Him for wisdom as you read.
Step 3:
When your group or individual shows up, open your Bibles and start reading together. Bonus tip: Having a cheese board or dessert tray for this step won’t hurt.
Step 4:
If they have questions that you don’t know the answer to, be honest and in between meeting, ask your pastor or a trusted mentor for guidance so you can come back with clarity.
Step 5:
Watch as Jesus makes you and the person/people you’re discipling more like Him. It’s the most amazing thing you’ll ever experience.
Matthew 28:19 tells believers to go and make disciples, so if you’re a Christ follower that command is to you. Don’t over-complicate it and definitely don’t stress over it. Discipleship doesn’t have to look a certain way as long as the end goal is looking more like Jesus. You can meet at a dining room table or in the floor of the playroom. You can serve a meal or a cup of coffee. Bottom line: you can rest in the fact that what God commands of us, He will always equip us for. We’re praying for you!
