Farmhouse On Boxwood

Located 90 minutes north of Atlanta in Rabun County, the farmhouse offers a unique rental experience for getaways, vacations, and special events. It was built by William Powell and Sarah Dillard after their wedding in 1880 and by 1883, Sarah began supporting William’s farming by offering beds and three meals as the Powell House aka Boxwood Terrace, which continued for nearly 100 years. Now operating as Farmhouse on Boxwood, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Dillard-Powell Home for its architecture, legacy of prominent families, and being one of the earliest inns and female entrepreneurial examples in the region.
